Personality and Learning Style Assessment

We highly value the opportunity to get to know our students as individuals.  We take a lot of time to learn personalities and understand what make our students tick.  We're not only concerned with how students learn and perform in an educational setting, but we're equally concerned with who they are and what they enjoy outside of the classroom.  We believe this initial part of our college match process is one of, if not the most, important pieces to helping students find colleges that are a good fit.  Through a series of personality and learning style assessments, we get to know our students in a one-on-one setting and create an environment that allows students to truly be themselves.

Research "Best Fit" College Options and Build College List

Based on the personality and learning style assessment, we give students the tools they need to research and discover colleges that are a good fit for them as individuals and for their academic abilities.  CLC College Prep develops unique college lists for each of our students. We spend several weeks out of the year visiting colleges and getting to know academic programs more thoroughly. We match students to colleges based on the student’s goals and college desires, and help them identify schools which accurately fit their interest and abilities.

Develop College Application Components

Once a College List has been created, we work with students to prepare each application component necessary to submit application to his/her preferred schools. We know that outstanding applications are important; this is why we work diligently to help students develop pieces that will catch the eye of admission committees.  This part of the process is highly flexible and can be tailored specifically to a student's needs and desires.  Based on the package that a family selects, this step can include assistance with college essays, standardized test preparation, personal statements, resumes/portfolio building, extracurricular and summer enrichment guidance, and more.  Regardless of how much or how little help a student prefers, our goal is to help prepare each student to submit outstanding applications by early fall of the student's senior year.

Develop College Visit Guides

CLC College Prep believes that getting on to campus is the most important factor to selecting a college.  We focus a lot of time and effort towards prepping students and parents for college visits.  We help students better understand how to make the most of their time on a prospective school's campus and enjoy assisting students and families prepare for college trips, prioritize their time on campus, and offer helpful tips that will guarantee a successful visit.

Assist with Financial Aid Process (scholarships, loans, and grants)

For many families, the financial aid process can be one of the more daunting components of attending college.  We help bring clarity to the confusing and overwhelming financial aid process by helping families better understand their options. From scholarship search guidance to assistance with filing the FAFSA, we help students and families confidently navigate the college funding process. 

Review College Acceptances and Offer College Choice Guidance

We offer guidance and support as students negotiate and make a final college attendance decision.  We want our students to feel confident in their decisions and do everything we can to help families  make the best choice for their student's future.
